“Bokuten – Why I Became an Angel” is a visual novel by OVERDRIVE and made available by Mangagamer. This particular story is for fans of divine intervention, loner protagonists who find love, and saving the world from itself. The game can be found here.
“Bokuten” is fairly long , clocking in at around 30-50 hours. Each girl has two different endings and there’s a special end if all other routes hit completion. There’s also an extras menu where various scenes can be rewatched and music can be enjoyed. CGI of all girls becomes available as each route is completed.
Story / setting
“Bokuten” follows Tomoe Kirinokojima, who lives a quiet and normal life. He’s content without friends, lovers, and keeping to himself. But then a strange, angelic visitor by the name of Aine comes down to see him. She recruits Tomoe to help her with troubled relationships around him.
While Tomoe thought his life was content, his classmates struggled with their romantic relationships. He partners with Aine to aid those around him. Tomoe experiences how love takes on different shapes and forms. And in the end, he just might find the real meaning of what happiness is.
There are 3 main girls with 2 routes each. There is also an extra ending once all other routes have been completed.
