Sekai Project will bring Madosoft’s Wagamama High Spec to the west

This weekend brings some surprising news coming from Sekai Project’s panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta, also simply known as AWA. In the panel they had several titles to announce and one of them is the Japanese visual novel Wagamama High Spec by Madosoft. The 3rd game by the company is still in development but that apparently didn’t stop them in their consideration to bring it over to the west.

Wagamama High Spec is a game featuring 4 heroines with a story that surrounds protagonist Kouki. Even though he’s just a student he also happens to be the author of a manga published in a weekly magazine. Since it’s mainly an ecchi and romcom type of story he is actually hiding this from most people around him. The only people that know are his younger sister and his best friend.

But then one day, the student council president happens to find out his secret, just as she was looking for a male member to include in the student council. Afraid of having his secret exposed Kouki joins the student council under the promise of his secret staying safe.

Website & Trailer

A simple teaser page for the localization has been opened here which also has a subtitled version of the preview trailer that was released just earlier this week. The trailer is also available directly on Sekai Project’s Youtube channel here.

Other announcements

However, that wasn’t the only new game in their announcements. In fact, there was a whole bunch of them. So let’s start with Yume no Sono, a game by amateur developer Primum Soft. The game tells the story of two people taking refuge within their dreams, and follows them as they venture into a mysterious city. A trailer movie is available here.

Next up is all-ages title Dareka ga Koishita Hankagai, also abbreviated as Darekoi. It’s a game by Japanese amateur group Life a Little and was originally released on the last day of 2013.  There’s no English website available but you can have a look around at the Japanese website to get a grasp on the setting of the game. You can have also watch the preview video on Youtube.

Next up is a short yuri story by English group Alienworks. Being their second title (first one being The Human Reignition Project) this title seems to focus on a different theme. The names of the main heroines are Amber and Marina and you’ll follow their story as they meet up during a nationwide rush for a miner’s hidden treasure. The game’s title is Highway Blossoms, a trailer is available here.

The next one in line is a Sekai Project original work. Its title is Japanese School Life! and as you might’ve guessed the game will feature Japanese school life as seen through the eyes of a foreign exchange student. You’ll spend your time together with two high-school girls. Not much else is known about it just yet except that the preview video hints at a spring release. Also see the teaser website here, which has an image of the two girls in question.

The final title that they announced is The Orchard of Stray Sheep, a visual novel by Japanese amateur group Namaage. The game’s Japanese name is Mayoi Hitsuji no Kajuen and its story takes place at a small all-girls school located on a solitary island. You’ll play the role of the newly appointed teacher Ichirou Yamada as you arrive in this small Eden. Yet the school also holds a deep secret…
