New brand Campus opens website for debut game Haru Uso -Passing Memories-

Last friday new brand Campus -a subsidiary of visual novel developer Light-, opened the website for their debut work, Haru Uso -Passing Memories-. The website is available here and provides some new information about the game, including new character images besides the already released visual for main heroine Satsuki.

Current pages available are the concept page, the story page, 5 character pages, and a spec page. Unfortunately other pages like the gallery page remain closed as of now. Haru Uso will be a game wherein the protagonist is one that has the strange ability to see through other peoples’ lies. And the concept page tells us that the game text will actually turn red whenever somebody tells him a lie.

The character pages provide information on 4 girls and protagonist Souichirou. Currently it’s unknown whether the other girls will be side character or actual heroines. Though seeming as how Campus advertises the game as a “non full-price game” it might as well be the former, but for now that’s pure speculation. Cast names have not yet been listed.

As for the game’s staff, working on the scenario for the game are Gai Midou (vndb) and new name Keisuke Kudou. The artist for the game will be Riichu, who also worked on a game called Symbiotic Lovers by amateur group Siron.

Story

There’s a reason that people lie to each other. They can lie to protect themselves, to deny themselves, to deceive themselves, or to be able to move on. There are all kinds of lies and everyone has their own reasons for using them.

Protagonist Souichirou in Haru Uso has the strange ability to see through those lies, though he can’t see the reason behind it. Naturally this power comes at a cost and he even comes to be known as the number one problem child at his school.

Souichirou’s story takes a turn when a new spring arrives and he is called out by one of the most popular girls in school, Satsuki Himeno. The difference between them is immense and yet she timidly tells him that she likes him, raising the curtain for a love story between the school’s number one problem child and the school’s most beautiful girl.

Release date

Currently the game has been set for a release in October.
