It seems this week is the week of surprise localization plans. This time it’s a new company making its appearance with a Steam Greenlight project for onomatope’s Kyuuketsu Hime no Libra. For which the Japanese version of the game is scheduled to release in October.
The company behind the greenlight campaign is called “MiKandi Japan” (Homepage) and at the campaign page (available here) they say that they intent to run a Kickstarter campaign later this fall. The English name for the game will to be “Libra of the Vampire Princess” though other than a translated version of the synopsis we don’t yet get to see any other elements translated.
The page does contain the game’s OP and various screenshots though. So definitely check if out if you’re interested. And make sure to cast your vote as well!
The OP movie is also available at a Youtube mirror on Onomatope’s channel here. It features a song called “The Annunciation” with vocals by Mayumi Shindou and Toa Yukimura While it was composed by VIVI.
The movie itself provides a character introduction for the main characters as well as a few quick looks at story elements you might expect in this game.
Shuuma is supposed to be a regular young youth. That is, until a vampire named Iris abducts him and tells him of his secret birth blood line. She claims that he’s a descendent of the “originator”, and that she’ll now attempt to awake Shuuma as the originator. It’s at that time that the ring he received from his mother suddenly starts glowing and prevents him from fully waking up as a vampire. Shuuma then also uses that very opportunity to escape from Iris, though his body now craves from the blood of someone from the opposite sex.
He at first however doesn’t want any of that and just wants to live as a normal human being. Unfortunately things seemingly won’t be as simple for Shuuma as Iris hasn’t given up and various other parties also start moving. In the end Shuuma now finds himself involved in a battle he did not wish for…
