9-nine-:Episode 1 is the first entry in the 9-nine- visual novel series by Japanese company Palette. The full name of this game is “9 -Nine- Kokonotsu Kokonoka Kokonoiro”.
Episode 1 takes place in a college town called Shiromitsugawa. It’s a town with no special features, and it has had several failed attempt to bring tourism back to life. But soon it’ll be in the center of attention, for reasons that no one would have ever guessed…
You’ll take on the role of Kakeru Niimi, a young man with an awfully kind personality. Always putting others before himself. He was also living your average day-to-day life as a student. But that stops the moment the ancient relic at his local shrine suddenly gets damaged. In the wake of this destruction, several youths with special powers awaken. All of them students with no outstanding features, just like the town you might say.
What will happen to them? And why did they get these powers?
