Hana Hime * Absolute is Mirai’s debut visual novel which has several gameplay features as well.
The game takes place in 2025, right when a game called “Crown Hearts” has become a big success. In the game there’s a battle between princes and princesses. Pro gamers are now about as popular as any big sport athlete. Protagonist Koharu however, is simply enjoying life at the private school Luminus Academy with his friends.
One day, they attend the opening ceremony of the annual Crown Hearts event. There, a new VR feature is announced for the game. In which competitors will fight battles in a VR, yet realistic, environment. Eight competitors will be chosen to fight in this battle. One leader for each side (Flower Queen and Star Prince), with 7 subordinates for the both of them. Koharu is chosen by the special AI of the game to compete as one of the competitors.

Gameplay
As you can imagine, there is quite some gameplay in Hana Hime * Absolute. Battling takes place in teams with various gauges for HP, stun, and your special EX moves. Characters attack in order of their speed values.
