Josou Kaikyou is a so-called trap visual novel by Japanese company Nounai Kanojo. The story of the game takes place on a small remote island called Okitsushima. Located near the inhabited island of Nakatsushima. Okitsushima is an island of legend. Supposedly the island was home to an important Goddess called Himegami. One revered by the people, and gave them prosperity in return. Though lately it only seems to bring on misfortunes.
One day, our protagonist Yukito is on the way to Nakatsushima together with Hibiki. For a research project from the lab that he’s working at, he needs to visit Okitsushima island. So after making a quick stop, he wants to quickly move on to search the other island. But on the way they get stuck in a big storm. The next thing he know, Yukito wakes up on Okitsushima island surrounding by two girls (or so he thinks).
Apparently they can’t leave the island until they finish a specific ritual. But after Yukito learns the ritual specifics. Will he still be able to do it?
