Aquaplus reveals release date for new Utawarerumono

It has been a long time since Aquaplus & Leaf originally revealed to be working on a new Utawarerumono game. But it seems that it now might finally be getting closer, as they reveal a release date for “Utawarerumono -Itsuwari no Kamen-“. A teaser page on their website shows a mask and the date of September 24 2015. At the time of writing it’s still unsure whether this is the originally announced Utawarerumono 2 from back in 2011, or if it’s something different.

Utawarerumono

Utawarerumono is a PC game originally released by Leaf & Aquaplus in 2002. The game combines turn-based gameplay together with a long story. The main character is Hakuoro, a man who lost all of his memories when he is found severely injured in a forest. He’s taken to a small village near the border, where the village elder and her two granddaughters patch him back up.

Having no place to go back to, Hakuoro decides to stay in the village and help them the best he can. It doesn’t take long until a certain event causes him and the village to end up in a battle that’ll eventually take them around the entire continent, meeting plenty of comrades on the way. What’ll become of them? And can Hakuoro regain his lost memories?
