Visual novel developer Key has published the trial edition for the upcoming game edition of Angel Beats. The trial was originally released several weeks ago at the character1 event in Japan and it was only a matter of time before it became available to the general public. It has actually been updated to version 1.10, though it’s currently unclear whether the trial has any changes compared to the previously released limited edition trial.

Angel Beats -1st beat- is the visual novel edition of the Angel Beats anime that aired back in 2010. First rumors about a visual novel appeared fairly shortly after but it wasn’t officially confirmed until September 2013. The visual novel will be split up into several chapters, with 1st beat being the first one. It’s scheduled for release on June 2 and will contain 3 routes, one for Yui, Iwasawa, and Matsushita each.
