Angels Beats first featured as a 13-episode anime series, with the story written by Jun Maeda. It was later followed by an OVA and another OVA is expected this year. First rumors about a visual novel appeared as early as 2010 but it wasn’t officially confirmed until September 2013. The visual novel will be split up into several chapters, with the first one released at the end of June this year.
Supervised by Jun Maeda the story will come to life with art by Key’s regular artist Na-Ga.
Story
The story of Angels Beats takes place at a high school in the afterlife, where a select group calling themselves the “Afterlife Battlefront” take up their fight against God. You’ll see the story unfold through the eyes of Otonashi, who meets the leader of the group, a girl named Yuri. She’s rebelling against God for forcing them into a miserable life when they were still alive. Without memories of his own life, Otonashi decides to fight alongside her and joins the Afterlife Battlefront.

J-List offers a Japanese import edition of the game, which comes with the Million stars CD and a special Kanade illustration.
