Ne no Kami is set in 2016 and follows tale of 4 girls as their fates intertwine. It all starts with an earthquake and the rumors of many “Oni” kind of creatures that are being seen all over the country. Though over time people’s interest dropped and sighting reports of these Oni diminished. Eventually everyone went back to their day-to-day lives and the whole incident was forgotten.
Then a girl named Ren, a normal student attending an all-girls school reunites with her childhood friend Shinonome, after she hasn’t seen her in years. But instead of rejoicing, she tells Ren that she’ll change life as she knows it.
A message saying “Ren, you are going to abandon this town… and die—today”, marks the start of a story that’ll reveal the truth of the world.
